At the end of this post has designer notes I've found to help me when using the Heart Stitch in my patterns.
This tutorial is not published on it's own except for this post. It is included with patterns using this stitch on sites I sell my patterns on.
DIRECTIONS
What is the Heart Stitch? It's a simple combination of other stitches to make a heart.
Heart Stitch:
sl st, [ch4, tr bobble, ch4, sl st in same st as tr bobble] twice in one stitch.
Reading that can make it look complicated. Let's go step by step with a few pictures to help you along. Remember the Heart Stitch is worked all in 1 stitch.
You need to decide where the stitch goes. Once you have done that you make a sl st in the same stitch.
Next thing you do is chain 4 and make a tr bobble in the same st, ch 4, and make another sl st into the same st. You have made the first part of your heart! If you find the stitch full or a bit hard to work into, try to push the stitches to the side as much as you can.
STEP THREE
Next thing is to ch4 and do another tr bobble in the same st as the other stitches, make another ch4, and sl st in the same st. That's it! All done!
Some things you should think about or know when designing with the Heart Stitch.

DESIGNER NOTES
Some things you should think about or know when designing with the Heart Stitch.
- You should have AT LEAST 1 or 2 stitches on each side not worked if you are adding this into your own pattern if you do not want them to have a 3D effect (textured). You don't have to, and I don't do this as they are meant to be 3D (textured) in my patterns.
- I used a back post stitch to attach the heart to my pattern so they aren't 'flopping around'. I did this after a round of dc or a few rounds of sc for the background. The next round I figured where to put the 'heart tips' and pinned them to the stitches were they looked best at. I used a bpsc around the tr bobble of the heart to attach them.
